Extra Doses of Prayers and Meds Needed

Over the course of the day, Kaitlyn's pain has intensified and gotten to a point where we are doing everything and anything we can to help make her feel better.

Late afternoon we noticed that her hands and feet were really cold and her body was really warm. A sign that her heart isn't circulating throughout the entire body like it should. Her heart rate has been on the rise and was over 150 a few times earlier this evening.

We checked her temperature and it was 104 degrees! A cool bath and more pain medicine and she is resting somewhat comfortably now. I say "somewhat" because she occasionally cries out in pain.

We are not asking for a miracle, we know that this disease will take her life, we just don't want her to be in any pain. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She needs them!

  41. Father, I lift up Kaitlyn to you and ask that You will give her comfort and rest, and that You will free her small body from pain. Lord Jesus, I lift up her parents, just as Paul commanded, praying in the Spirit on all occasions with all types of prayers and requests. I ask that you will strengthen them with Your strength and give them shalom - Your peace that passes ALL understanding. Calm Your children in the midst of the storm. I pray for the encouragement of these saints. I pray that they will continue to hold on to Your teachings and that others will continue to see that they really are Your disciples. Because Lord we know that when we are Your disciples it is then that we will know the Truth, and the Truth will set us free! Please set many free to spiritual liberation in You through the witness of Chip & Deanna, and through Kaitlyn and her precious life. I pray all of these things in Your precious and Holy Name! Amen.

  45. I started reading your blog through a friend on facebook. God nudged me to read your story, so I did. I am not sure how aware you are that Kaitlyn has reached so many hearts and as a mother of three, I look at my children very differently since reading your story. I hug them a little tighter now, say I love you every chance I get, appreciating the sound of their voice when they say my name a million times a day. God had a plan for her, maybe to open our eyes and hearts and love the beautiful things god has blessed us with. To you Kaitlyn I thank you and pray for you every day. May you feel the love of all of us. May you rest comfortably and be free of pain.

  53. I pray for Kaitlyn and the rest of the family several times daily. I can't imagine the sadness and hurt you are feeling seeing her in pain. I know that God has plans for this special little angel. Look at how many people you have already reached! I lost my father 20 years ago after a long and very painful illness. I can honestly say that along with my sadness, I also felt a great relief knowing he was no longer in pain. I will keep thinking of Kaitlyn and the rest of the family, and hope words from strangers like me can give you some comfort and peace.

  56. I prayed fervently for Kaitlyn when I read this posting. God is so evident in your lives. I can't imagine how you could get through something do difficult without Him. I have a 2 1/2 year old little girl as well who loves listening to the VeggieTales song "Precious Girl". Everytime I hear it I think of Kaitlyn. There is a line in the song that says "The lives you touched, you're worth so much and that is just how God made you" truly reflects sweet Kaitlyn's life. You are right, that God made her with a wonderful purpose in mind. I thank God for your precious angel!!! May Jesus' loving arms wrap you up with love and comfort.

  64. Give us faith to be strong
    Father, we are so weak
Our bodies are fragile and weary
As we stagger and stumble to walk where you lead
Give us faith to be strong

Give us faith to be strong
Give us strength to be faithful
This life is not long, but it's hard
Give us grace to go on
    Make us willing and able
Lord, give us faith to be strong

Give us peace when we're torn
Mend us up when we break
This flesh can be wounded and shaking
When there's much too much trouble for one heart to take
Give us peace when we're torn

Give us faith to be strong
Give us strength to be faithful
This life is not long, but it's hard
Give us grace to go on
    Make us willing and able
Lord, give us faith to be strong

Give us hearts to find hope
    Father, we cannot see
How the sorrow we feel can bring freedom
And as hard as we try, Lord, it's hard to believe
So, give us hearts to find hope

Give us faith to be strong
Give us strength to be faithful
This life is not long, but it's hard
Give us grace to go on
    Make us willing and able
Lord, give us faith to be strong
Give us peace when we're torn
Give us faith, faith to be strong
