Sleepy Saturday

Kaitlyn is resting right now (in and out of sleep) upstairs with me sitting close by. She had some coughing and breathing trouble in the middle of the night but she is stable right now. Her heart rate is a little higher than normal. This is common when the body is working really hard to function.

We are waiting for a visit from hospice to check and see how her lungs sound and whether we can resume her feedings or not. So far, holding her feeding for 24 hrs has made a little bit of a difference in her coughing but not significant. I don't think holding feedings is necessary unless there is a great benefit. We will more than likely start her feedings back up, just with less amount of formula since her body needs less. Of course, we will wait to see what hospice says first but ultimately it is our job to look to God for the answers we seek and do what we feel is the right thing to do.

Thank you all so much for all of your messages, prayers and calls. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to have such a great support system, both near and far. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
